Warriors Beat St. Francis 7-6 in Extra Innings

Warriors Split With Rival St. Francis

Warriors played rival St. Francis back to back nights and walked away with a split of the series.

Game 1

Warriors lose. Don’t worry about the score.

Game 2

The Warriors came out with fire coming back off of a tough loss to St. Francis. They threw D1 pitcher Trevor Swany who gave them 6 strong innings. Francis jumped out to a quick lead, leading 3-0 after 2. The Warriors scored two though to make the score 3-2. When asked about how he felt on how the game was going Ryan Bugh responded, “its as cold a piece of French toast on a Sunday morning.” This quote is up for interpretation… No one really knows what it means. We aren’t sure Ryan even knows.

The Warriors tied the game at 3-3 heading into the fifth, when St. Francis added 2 more runs to increase their lead to 5-3. St Francis leads going into the bottom of the fifth. The Warriors bounched back though. Scoring on an Alec McNally fielders choice and a Sam Perna sacrifice fly to tie the game at 5-5. Derek Enger comes in and pitches good allowing only one run and with momentum in the way of the Warriors. The Warriors went on to tie the game on a Trevor Swany triple.

Heading into extras, the Warriors got 2 solid innings for Jerry Budzisz and also a controversial single where Jerry laid out the Francis pitcher. Or the Francis pitcher laid out Jerry. Either way. Budzisz goes on to say, “Ya I nailed that guy. I think. Its all kind of hazy to me.” Jerry was fine after the collision with all that said. Colin Copler came in as the pinch runner for Jerry and made his way over to third. Luke Boggs at the plate and takes a 100 mph fastball, off the right field foul pole to win the game.

Not really.

Boggs reached base on a error that went about as far as how much hair he has on his head. Which isnt much. Warriors win on Boggs’ heroic error and charge the field after beating rival St. Francis in 9 innings 7-6.
