Warriors vs. Westminster
The Warriors played their second game at Kane County Stadium and pulled out a 3-1 win against Westminster and advanced to 17-10. The Warriors played against maybe the toughest pitcher they may see this year. Scouts from Northwestern University came to scout him for this game actually! In the first inning he was throwing low 90’s and hit 92 on the radar gun. However he was the second best pitcher in this game, Max Ishikawa pitched a masterpiece of a game going seven innings only allowing one hit and one run. Coach Byrne says “Max was huge today, he asked to go the distance, and we kept him in and finished them off. He pitched ahead in the count all day and really picked us up.” Tate Fritz provided big time for the Warriors when he hit a triple scoring two runs. Trevor Swaney also knocked in a run and continued his great play. He gets the start tomorrow against Montini and the Warriors look to win conference. Coach Byrne spoke very highly of Trevor, “Trevor has been huge recently. There is not a better pitcher in the area.” Come out to Montini and support the Warriors as they seek to come in first place in conference for the first time in Wheaton Academy history!
