Warriors defeat Gators 8-2 and Improve to 7-1 in State

WA vs. Guerin Prep
Running Blog for the game.
Top of the First: 0-0
Ryan Kramer gets the start and looks sharp as he retires the Gators 1,2,3.
Bottom of the First: 0-0
Guerin’s starter shows a good fast ball in retiring Brandys and McNally. Sandberg is able to get a single off him, but is picked off at first. During the game I was joined by members of the girls soccer team, shout out to Kristen Morency, Allie Witt, Crystal Thomas, and Blythe Todd. Allie wanted the Warriors to hit a grand slam when no one was on base and Blythe wanted me to say she hit a home run, but she did not. Sorry Blythe.
Top of the Second: 0-0
Kramer goes 1,2,3 has not allowed a hit yet and has one strike out. The soccer girls are making fun of how I am wearing brown shoes with black socks, seriously? I am a guy so just give me a break.
Bottom of the Second: 2-0
Swaney doubles and then steals third base, Joiner then grounds out to bring Swaney home. McKenna hits a double and is later driven home by Lochridge who hit a single. Warriors take a 2-0 lead.
Top of the Third: 2-0
Kramer continues to dominate the Gator bats, does not allow a run.
Bottom of the Third: 5-0
Warriors have another big inning! Brandys hits a triple and Swaney is walked and both score due to Joiner’s single. Joiner has three RBIs right now! Then McKenna drives Joiner home by hitting a single. Warriors score three runs and increase the lead to 5-0.
Top of the Fourth: 5-1
Kramer starts out the inning allowing three singles one of them allowing a run. He gets a runner out by catching him in a run down and then gets a ground out and fly ball to end the inning. 5-1 Warriors.
 Bottom of the Fourth: 5-1
McNally hits a single but no runs are scored. Molly, Sierra, and Sequoia join in on making fun of my attire. Sheesh, Mrs. Kuppler was bad enough…. J
Top of the Fifth: 5-1
The inning begins with a single but then Kramer retires the other three batters. If making fun of my attire was not bad enough Molly makes fun of my blog too… ouch
Bottom of the Fifth:  7-1
Warriors tack on two more runs this inning. Swaney leads off the inning with a single and then steals second base. JD Joiner continues his big day with his fourth RBI of the day. McKenna singles, Boggs walks then McNally grounds into fielder’s choice bringing home Joiner. Warriors tack on two more runs.
Top of the Sixth: 7-1
Kramer once again keeps the Gators bats from scoring. A fantastic outing from Ryan Kramer today only allowed one run and gets the win.
Bottom of the Sixth: 8-1
Tate Fritz drilled a home run to left and sealed the win for the Warriors.
Top of the Seventh: 8-2
Luke Thorson gets to close the game for Warriors and pitched pretty well! He allowed one run but ultimately closed out the win for the Warriors. The Warriors improve to 7-1 in state for Coach Byrne with today’s win.

Thanks to strong pitching from Ryan Kramer and a huge day from JD Joiner the Warriors win their third in a row. Next game is against Thursday against Walther Lutheran at 430.
